Testing the Range of the TBS Crossfire Micro TX - Vlog - ewized

VLOG 38 – Testing the Range of the TBS Crossfire Micro TX and the Micro RX v2. I currently can fly out about a max of 1km out, this is with the L shaped antenna on the receiver and the stock antenna on the transmitter placed horizontal. After doing this test I can say you can fly out a half of a mile out with no problems. Some other things to note on how the CRSF protocol works is there is 3 levels of RSSI the first one is at 150hz the second one is at 50hz and the 3rd (last) mode is 8hz. When you get to the 8hz mode this is the turnaround zone or you will failsafe. The 50hz mode is the warning period where you can fly about 100 feet more but to be safe just turn around.
